"we are all just stories in the end... Just make it a good one... A story about a daft old man who stole a blue box and ran away... "
So I was watching Dr. Who yesterday... It was the end of season 5 and the doctor(matt smith) was again faced with the possibility of never existing... He was literally going backwards through his friends memories... And it was up to her to remember him so that he could exist... He ends up in amelia's bedroom when she was about 7 years old... she is dead asleep and he sits there... The line above is the beginning of what he has to say...
It's an interesting thought isn't it? Do we all just end up as stories in the end? Are we all just the figment of someone else's imagination?
Unlike the doctor we can't live forever... A) I wouldn't want to.. B) I don't think I could live with myself. But, what we do, can live forever... There is truth hidden behind that line... "we all end up as stories in the end." nobody lives forever but what we do can.
Now one of my favorite songs at the moment is called "turbo swag" by a band called attack attack! (us) and one of the most repeated lines in that song is...
"listen to what I say!
Do something that will last forever!"
The reason I'm tying these two together is because they work together... You only become a story if you do something that will last forever for someone... It doesn't have to be a whole lot of people it can be just one.... A simple smile can change somebody's day completely. Small things can change the course of history forever...
And when people remember your story... What will they remember? When they tell your story will it be a good one? Will you have made such a difference that people remember your name... Not as the most famous person alive but one that changed the world for what they believed?
So a couple questions....
1) Will you become a story or a blank sheet of paper that a writer got writer's block on?
2) What will you do to change someone's life, someone's day, the course of history itself?
3) Will you stand for what you believe or will you follow the crowd?
4) What will you be remembered for?
5) Will what you do mirror the god you serve?
