Bicycle Gangs and Spider Eggs

This lovely afternoon i was taking trash out at my church. One of the secretaries had her sons with her. The boys were outside riding their bikes around and just enjoying the nice weather. Well there was a break in the playing and one of the boys found a eggsack of a spider out near the doors... and what did he do? What all little guys do! "Let's go show mom!" Well anyway, he walked all the way up the stairs with this little white webbed sack in hand, walked straight up to his mom and showed her. She looked at it and told him to take it back outside. To this he walked down the stairs... on his way down the other two boys had seen him and asked what he had... he showed them and one of the other boys said, "lets go crush it." To this he agreed and walked outside.. but as they were walking out the door the oldest of the three said, "Don't crush it.. think about it you'll be killing millions of innocent little lives...."

There were a couple things that stood out to me....

A) That kids has a vocabulary for being so young! I didn't know the word innocent till I was like twelve hahah. sorry that was random...

B) The interest kids have in reaking utter chaos on everything around them has always made me laugh especially when they are young and on top of the world... It kinda just made me laugh to hear the first thing out of the kids mouth was "let's go crush it!!" what is the enjoyment in destroying something incredibly intricate and beautiful?? i don't know. Thankfully I think that for most people that is just one of those passing fazes... cuz i know personally i enjoy beauty a lot more than i did when i was younger and i take time to try to appreciate it... but that's beside the point

C) "Don't crush it.. think about it you'll be killing millions of innocent little lives...." What do i say to that? what would you say? i thought it was kind of funny that he brought an almost pro-life argument into the mix... and the fact that he was about to go up in arms with his brother... But something else stood out to me.. He was concerned about a spider... a creature that most of us look on with disgust... a creature that makes girls jump up on tables screaming for some guy to get it... a creature that most people just shiver when they think about it... But it is a creature that the God of this universe (the One and Only God by the way) created with a specifice purpose... he uniquely created it... designed it.. formed it... there are several verses in the bible that tell of how much God cares for ALL of his creations... Even.. might i add... an eggsack of spider eggs that a six year old stumbled upon...

I just thought it was interesting that his brother... at the age that he is... recognized that... Good parenting? Yes. But also an actual relationship with the God of this universe... It's kinda crazy to think about but it's cool at the same time because would i have thought about that? NOPE! i wouldn't have thought about any of this until he said something about it... he wasn't even talking to me about it... But it was crazy awesome and inspiring so i thought i would write my thoughts down about it...

Leave some thoughts if you so choose.

Oh and just a random shout-out, Thanks boys for helping me clean and thanks for just being yourself! Made my day.
